Anonymous
any advice will really be appreciated. If they broke the rules of the FDCPA, i want to send them a letter ASAP, and am curious what the letter should say.
bingo
Please don't take this the wrong way but if you don't know if they broke the law or not, you're playing a dangerous game if this is inside the SOL. AT the very top of the page, you can find a copy of the FDCPA and the FCRA. Print 'em out and get a highlighter and start reading. As you read the FDCPA you'll discover that damages are adjudicated. In other words, the judge sets the penalty-if any -and they range from $100 to $1000.
Anonymous
no offense taken, I am asking these questions to clear a few things up. I am willing to suffer the concequences if they occur. I know that I sent a combo Debt validation, Cease and desist(contact by mail only) this letter was received and signed for by then on may 5, according to the USPS website. They called me today May 7, trying to collect the debt. I believe they are in violation, if i was 100% of everything i wouldnt need to post on this board. Thanks in advance for your time.
