Anonymous
Hey everyone,I have used all the info I have obtained on this board to try and clear some derog's off my reports. Here's the update: over 60 days ago I sent out validation letters to the ca listed. I did not recieve any responses. Sent second letter, still nothing. Copied everything including green cards and sent them to CRA ststing I have attempted to obtain validation and to this day have recieved nothing. Now I get my first report from CSC(equifax?) stating that all accounts have once again been verified and now list accounts as customer disputes as not his. What gives? Do I now file small claims for failure to abide by law?Is there any other avenue to take to apply the pressure? Thanks for any help.
herauntsis
Here's what worked for me -- sent validation letter to CA, no response. Sent second letter, no response. Sent copies of letters with green cards to CRAs, came back as verified. Faxed (and then sent certified mail, RRR) third letter, "send me X amount of dollars and delete both collection accounts from my reports or I will sue you." No response. Filed complaint with BBB about CA not responding to my letters. Six days later, got a letter from CA, copied to BBB, agreeing to remove both items from all three bureaus. Use the BBB that services the area where the company lives (so to speak), not where you live. Go to BBB.com, there is a link there to find the BBB in that geographic area.I have also written three letters over a four month period, trying to get some inquiries removed. Those guys must think they are CAs, lol, they haven't reponded either. Yesterday morning, filed six complaints with BBB over that. We'll see how that goes. Good luck! Anonymous
Heranuntsis,Thanks for the response. I have read many of your posts and they have all been very helpful. One question, did you send the third letter to the CA or the CRA? Also, would you know how having a "disputed as not his" line on my report impacts my score or how it is viewed by others? And how long does this stay on my report? Thanks again for your help!
Anonymous
I just checked my snail mail and low and behold there are 2 letters. One from TU and one from Experian stating that in order to investigate my claims I will need to send them copies of my SS card and 2 recent bills with my address on them. They also want a signature. Is this normal?
smogtek
I'd check on this one! The only time I had to give this info was to get my reports initially because I'd had an address change. They have never asked me for this info when I disputed, so I'd be VERY careful. jordanmorganusa
I've had TU send me forms for that, but I never sent them in. They asked me 2 or 3 times. Never did it. Never had a problem.

Anonymous
Thanks for the responses.....but does anyone have a answer to the questions I posed in the previous posts? I was curious about the "disputed as not" notations and how they effect my report. Also, do these stay on for a certain period of time? Should I know file suit in small claims?I really appreciate any and all help, this has been a total nightmare for me and reading this board has been really helpful!
