123rich
I recently sent a settlement letter to a ccc stating that I wanted to settle on the account for 75% and having my credit report state "paid in full never late"... They responded by saying that they except my settlement and that they will report to the credit agencies "PAID-SETTLED".I was thinking about sending them a money order with an attached latter stating the money order # and a statment stating if they cash this money order then they agree to the terms and conditions bla bla bla and "paid in full never late" on my credit report.Does that sound good or should I just take thier offer and dispute later on with the credit agencies? I have until the 8th of March so I have a little time if they refuse to cash the money order.
wert
Get the agreement from them-IN WRITING- first, before any money is sent. Call them and say that you are going to file bankruptcy if they don't accept your offer. Demand they have it stated paid in full, never late. Settled in full isn't good. retmar
Did you get it in writing? By your comments of adding that statement makes me think you didn't. If in writing, you are safe. If not, worry. Even though a "settled" is better than other remarks, it is still a ding to a degree. Did you try a "good faith" letter? Maybe you can convince them to change to the better remark. Try it. At least you are trying to clear the account up instead of walking away.
