vip
I've got two old credit card debts from school in 98. Bolth were charged off in 98 and have been through at least two collectors each. I'm now recieving letters from the collectors offering to settle at $1,000 each. This is about 50% of the total. I'm finally in a position where I can pay them off now so my question is just that. Should I take the settlements and then try and valiate them or should I first validate them and go to the original creditor. Any advice is greatly appreciated. bingo
What is the SOL in your state? Do you know when you last paid the orginal creditor.

bingo
I think I'd try and fell 'em out about a payment for deletion. If they won't budge then, start validation. Be sure any deal is in writing.
