andyb
I ran my credit report and didn't see 2 major deliquent accounts that were there a few yrs ago. I believe the sol has passed on them but not sure about the 7 yr period. One account shows as a collection and i was called by them. I was trying to negociate a settlement but they declined. That was before i knew about the sol. What should i do? How can i get the exact date of the charge off? There are different dates on all 3 reports? How can i get the collection off if it indeed passed the 7yr mark? I'm afraid to tell them where to go untill i have the real facts. Also i have 3 judgements that have been paid but don't ever remember signing for any certified mail. Can i make a motion to vacate? And if so, do i have to do it 3 times and do i need a lawyer. I also have a sears account with a ca and the sol expires in 3-4 months. I would like to settle this if they agree to remove negative from report. Please any advise would be greatly appreciated. Did you originally pay these accounts with checking account, do you have past paperwork - can you check with bank to see if they might have past copies? The Experian Credit Report (should say when the account is going to come off of the credit report). It could be wrong - but it is the closest IMO of the 3 CRAs.Also i have 3 judgements that have been paid but don't ever remember signing for any certified mail. Can i make a motion to vacate? If you know it is wrong you can file for dismissal. I also have a sears account with a ca and the sol expires in 3-4 months. I would like to settle this if they agree to remove negative from report. After that point you could 1st try to dispute & hope for deletion, then if it don't work try for settlement. But if you decide to settle - be sure to get it in writing that they will consider is paid; won't sell the remaining debt; & will remove from the credit reports with all CRAs they report to.</blockquote>
