nangirl6
I am considering paying OC's for deletion of tradeline from cr. The accounts have all been charged off (1998). I live in South Carolina, so the SOL has run out on all of these debts. Does anyone have any experience with this? Are there any sample letters for this situation? I have seen some of the debt settlement letters that I could probably adapt to my situation.

My suggestion to you is to not do anything for now and read up on the laws and the board. You NEVER start out this process by offering payment, that should be the last step after you've gone thru disputes, DV (for CA's) threats, complaint filing etc. So, stick around and read up on the posts, you'll be happy you did! LadynRed
The accounts are all past the SC SOL ??? Then none of them can legally sue you and if they do you have a total defense against them. The problem with settling now is that once you do, you'll have another 7 years of them on your report as opposed to only 4 (or less) to go. They can't sue you, so unless you're trying to pay these off in preparation for buying a house, I'd leave them alone. Once you settle with one of them, the rest will come out of the woodwork and the harrassment will start all over again.

Payment doesn't extend or reset the7 year reporting period. I agree to not offer settlement but not because it keeps the items longer on the report.
