Anonymous
I am missing my car loan on my credit report...do any of you have an idea of how this could happen and how to get this adjusted?
Anonymous
Was the debt sold to another creditor? Are you sure it's not listed under a different line on credit? Sounds strange that it's not on your CR.
techgoddess
I've had my car for over two years and it's still not on my credit report. I don't mind though because I've had a bunch of late payments and it would make me have a really sucky debt ratio when I go to get a mortgage (since I live in So. Cal. I need the biggest mortgage I can get.)
Anonymous
Techgoddess, I have a hypothetical situation for you. We know the debt is not listed on the CR. Let's say that I default on the payments for over 120 days. At this point, the OC assigns the debt to a CA. I pull my CR and neither the OC nor CA is listed a creditor. Could the CA place an item on my CR?Thanks in advance.BTW - I'm also a techie
techgoddess
I don't know. I'm sure the CA would be allowed to report it though.
kb9tbq
Question: Do you know if for fact that at some time the original creditor reported the loan? When did the account go delinquent? And do you have information proving this date of delinquency? The thing here is that collection agencies are not suppose to out live what the OC would of reported for. If the Collection Agency decides to add a tradeline to the credit report; you will have a problem with re-aging. There can be a wide difference between when the account went charge off & when the OC asigns the debt or sells the debt to a collection agency. Some times they will try to report from the time they picked up the debt & not properly reflect the charge off date.
