It is a little place in Iowa where I landed in the hospital last summer with pnuemonia (spelling prob wrong) and it is the er doc. What is the best course of action? If they come back and verify it, try disputing something else like the account number or the balance. Just nit-pick at every little thing!! Ravenous Wolf Posted February 4, 2004 Report Share Posted February 4, 2004 It also depends on what you mean by validation.Did they provide you with the following:• Copies of a signed contract or an instrument bearing my signature. • Documentation verifying that I did in fact have an outstanding balance from this account. • An explanation on how a calculation was made on what I purportedly owed. • An explanation of the procedures used to inform me of such an outstanding balance. If a CA cannot effectively answer the above requests, then it doesn't have any proof that this debt belongs to you.There are still plenty of ways to fight a crappy validation.
