Swede
Funny that they're so retarded. Anyway, they have 30 days to investigate. Tick tack tick tack it's already going by quick. I would not send them a NEW letter asking for investigation because the FCRA states that they can extend the investigation 15 days if they recieve additional information from the consumer. They're so stupid they'll think that's "additional information".Do you have your green card? If so, make a copy of it and send them SAME letter you sent asking for investigation, add on top of it that "according to my records, supported by the enclosed copy of your signed receipt, you received my request for investigation on x date. Therefore, as per the FCRA, I expect this investigation to be completed on x date (30 days from when they got it) If if cannot be verified, I expect it to be deleted blahblahbal [Edit by Swede on Saturday, October 19, 2002 @ 02:20 PM]
irishmalemark
Swede,The funny thing is the TU letter showed up before the green card but I expect the green card to show up any day now from the USPS.I will take your advise and resend a copy of the original letter along with the green card copy and politely request they still have x number of days to comply with my original request for investigatiion. Thanks for the tipIrish
Swede
Should the green card not show up, you can always use www.usps.gov and print out the receipt from their site. You can go there now and see when they sign for your letter and compare the date on the letter from TU.

Wyndo
I got my green card back from my recent letter to Trans Union. It's up to the post office to return the card when the letter is delivered, not Trans Union. If you didn't get it, it must have gotten lost in the mail (unless they didn't accept your letter, in which case you'd eventually get it back). jasen
Originally posted by lifeIt looks as if that is now a standard letter from T.u. as i recently got the same letter.....
Yes, that seems to be a standard form letter they send out in response to disputes now. They're not saying that they won't investigate it, they simply acknowledging receipt of your dispute and reminding you they have 30 days to finish it.If after that 30 days is up and you hear nothing else, you send another letter (and copy of the first) that's a bit more demanding, ask them to delete or correct said record, and perhaps threaten suit if they did indeed fail to meet the timeline.
