Anonymous
I am flabbergasted!!!!! I am spending a lot of time reading and trying to understand this credit bureau game but now feel punished. I put in 3 disputes online with Equfax and now, 3 days later my score has dropped 70 points!!!! I am now down to the 595 number from 665. How can this be? I made a copy as I cannot believe this could happen. I have had no inquiries in the past year. I read about the Chevron card and thought I would see if I could just have another positive account. Well, crap!!!! I'm sure they wont even approve me now. What in the world have I done?
kimber6337
You haven't done anything. it happens - trust me It could be due to the number of accounts/entries you have now. I'm in the position of getting all the bad off and only being left with 1 or 2 good entries and having to start over. Be patient, it took you alot of work and reading to get the entries removed - but your score might not reflect it for months or until your credit history remaining becomes stronger. Anonymous
Well, actually, nothings been removed yet. They say it's being disputed. It was just 2 late payments 1 time each. Nothing else has changed on my report. How can it change from so so to crappy that quick? I haven't done anything and all bills are current.I thought I was heading in the right direction but now am totally at a loss.I think I'll hve a few drinks and go over it again, soften the blow. kimber6337
Equifax (from what I hear) removes the entry from your score base while being disputed - thats why your score changed on the fly. Its a good indicator of what your score maybe if the tradeline is completly removed - or so I have experienced.
Anonymous
Thanks for responding and letting me know that. I hope that is the case. They are both old accounts that have a positive rating other than the 1 time late. I did the simulator and found that if I paid off everything and was not late for 3 months, my score would be 5 points less than ot was 5 days ago. That's not going to happen, just wanted to see. Hope it goes up when the dispute is off!!!!!Thanks again!!!!
Anonymous
I know what you mean, Ang. I pulled my scores last week before I went out and bought a car. My TU score was 743; when the dealer pulled it...it dropped to 691, and I had three deletes and one update. One they said they didn't change, but they in fact did and didn't realize they gave me exactly what I was looking for!...hehehe!!! I think I got the loan because I explained to the dealer I was disputing info with all three bureaus, and as a result, he just used the TU score to approve me for the loan. I shudder to think what the EQ numbers would've looked like...and what my interest rate would've been due to bad scores!
