wohlfie3
Decided to sign up for Equifax's credit watch. Called the number on the bottom of the report to dispute some items over the phone with a customer service rep. Well, in TN "Credit Info Center" Equifax's field office reps told me that they do not take ANY disputes over the phone. You can either fax or write them. What a rip! No on-line dispute, no over the phone dispute, just by mail or fax. I called up there several times yesterday and got the same person every time, so I'm thinking it might be a very small office. I called Equifax and told them what was going on. They told me to call their field office back and holler and scream and demand a supervisor so that I could dispute over the phone. Isn't that crazy????
Anonymous
Filing disputes over the phone is a easy way to go, but....It would be in your best interest to send in a dispute letter and keep copies of all of your dispute letters and the date that you sent them. If you dispute the items over the phone you will not have a paper trail to back you up if you need it later down the road.
kimber6337
Yes and especially since you got the same person when you called back. I would want a good paper trail for these folks!
