Anonymous
Ok, I sent a version of the nutcase letter to a paid, chargeoff hoping to get rid of this 100 dollar booboo. I disputed with the CRA after getting the green card back. I have never heard from the OC charge off people. But, Equifax said it was verified in 4 days and said additional info was on my report. The only thing I read is the OC address. Now, I have crammed and truly tried to get a grasp of this process. Do they not have to advise the CRA the tradeline is disputed as this was never on my report. I am sending another letter but am trying to see what angle to take. I really don't think they verified. I'll do the 15 day letter but had wanted to wait for CHOD. That would be too late though, eh? Any thoughts would be gladly taken!!
Swede
No not too late, there's no timeframe an OC has to reply to you when you dispute directly with them. CHOD is for CRA's though, you can still go ahead and send a 15 day to the OC, but remember, the 30 days, 15 days etc we put in the letter is moreso a "reasonable" timeframe. In fact, they never have to reply to you at all- they do however, have to note that the account is in dispute if they update with the CRA's.[Edit by Swede on Monday, 11, 2002 @ 05:11 PM]
Anonymous
Thanks Swede, so they have not advised the CRA that it was in dispute and the CRA said it was updated although I see nothing new on my report. Should I now go through the CRA of write a more abrupt letter to the OC. Thanks!
Swede
Isn't there a nutcase II or Son of Nutcase? It seems to ring a familiar bell...I may have it somewhere laying around, I'll check. If they responded to the CRA's dispute by updating or verifying or whatever they wanna call it, without the notice of dispute- they are in violation. So close to CHOD, I'd wait and send my CRA's dispute during it. What did you dispute it as with the CRA?
