rockyaz
Can anyone help or add comment to this? I disputed a collection item on my Experian report, came back verified, disputed again and now in the status it is labeled "no status" and a comment "comsumer dispute under FCRA". I called Experian and asked them to explain the comment and the status and they said "hey, this is better than a collection". But, I wanted it deleted. Has this happened to anyone else out there? admin
Is this before the 30 days is up? They do have a full 30 to investigate...
rockyaz
Yes, these are the results after the investigation.
admin
Write back and tell them they are in violation for not finishing their investigation of you within 30 days. This is BS!
Anonymous
I've got something weird showing on my husbands Experian report that no one can seem to explain. After I disputed something the next report I got showed "updated" info. And all the was updated was a notation under the account listing that reads "FCBA dsiputed resolved-consumer disagrees". What does this mean? Has anyone else seen this appear on their Experian report? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. I can't find anything on it on this board or on the Net either. rockyaz
I have the same notation on an account with Experian. I don't know why they think this is satisfactory. It tells creditors or people reviewing your credit file nothing. Experian is a big pain in the a**. I think FCBA stands for Fair Credit Bill Act. The thing that bugs me, the quote is as if we instructed them to put the verbage there. "Comment from consumer....."Sorry- I am not much help in the way of a suggestion to ease the problem! Swede
Rockyaz is right, the FCBA is the Fair Credit Billing Act. The FCBA only applied to open end credit accounts like credit cards, department cards etc and not installments. The FCBA is very specific, for example, one cannot dispute under the FCBA with the CRA's, only with the creditor. Disputes must be sent within 60 days of the billing error and the creditor has to resolve the matter within 90 days. Anonymous
Thanks guys for the quick response. I read the FCBA information. I'm still not sure why that statement is appearing on my husbands report when the account was disputed as "not Mine" like the rest of them were. From what I read, the FCBA is if you have a problem or an issue with a billing or fradulent charge on a charge card. Oh well, its just one more thing in a long list of items, I don't understand about the workings of these bureaus!
Swede
Yep, shouldn't be on there, doesn't make sense at all-- but then again, CRA's are notorious for not making sense. Maybe you should send them a copy of the FCBA and ask what section they may be referring to.
