smogtek
I've never seen this question addressed before, so I thought I'd ask.Exactly how do public records get reported and end up on your credit report?I don't think the IRS, State Tax Boards and County Recorders report or do they? I've heard yes and no.I've also heard that the CRAs have "contract" employees that go to the county recorder and "harvest" this info and then the CRAs put it on our reports.Anybody out there have any thoughts on this? Anonymous
I'm not sure exactly how the CRA's get the public info, but I do know that I sent a letter to the address experian gives for BK court, and it was returned to sender, " forwarding address expired" and then I spoke with experian on the phone and they said they used the address given to me and verified. "yea right" I also called the # they give and the lady said they don't have time to bother with the cra's. i had a 96 BK 7 removed with absolutley no problem with Tu and CSC. experian is holding on for dear life. lol good luck
kimber6337
I spoke with EQ about validation the other day. The lady on the phone told me they sent it to them. I asked for their address that they sent it to and she said there wasn't one listed. They are sending stuff electronically and calling. But, I thought for something to be listed that they had to have a Snail Mail addy for the OC/CRA that placed the entry onto my report....

TU told me the court reported the information to them. This was an outright lie...I called the court and they said they never give information to anyone. But, the information is public record and anyone going to the courthouse requested public information can get access. So the CRA goes and gets it from them, the government is not in the business of reporting info to the CRA's...they're too busy wasting our money in other ways.
Anonymous
I would love to have a definitive answer to this question..."How does 'public record' information get into the hands of the CRAs"?I was wondering out load the other day if I could get the clerk of court to 'supress' my SSN on my 'public record'...I wonder if the CRAs could still verify it... Anonymous
what is your opinion on asking the court to supress your ss# ? Would that possibly work? would like your take on it.
Anonymous
I sent an e-mail to my attorney. Will let you know what he says. And your right, ss #s have become the main source of identity. Only employers should have your ss#.... Also, people need to realize that it's a bad idea to use your socail # for your DL. Many people can get your # that way. thanks.
