It is the CA listed under credit information, instead of being listed under collections

Isnt the Credit info for the Original Creditors and the Collections part for CA's?

Gotcha, you're right, there are different sections for different types of accounts and this is clearly incorrect. I guess in your case, it would be misleading and inaccurate and I'd dispute it on that basis.

If the debt was assigned, then it goes under the CA section on EQ. If it has been sold, then it will go under the Credit Account Information. I hope that that is what you are talking about. If I am wrong, please forgive me.

Are you sure about this? Even if an account is sold, as long as it was delinguent at the time of sale it still falls under the FDCPA and they're still debt collectors. That should still be in the collections section.

Granted I've never really thought much about this but it doesn't make sense that it would be in the creditor information. They are not the creditor (unless it was purchased while in good standing)

Swede,

I agree with you but I know by looking at the EQ CR that that is what happened to me. Doesn't mean that the ones that bought it are not DCs. I just used to to find out who had assigend debt and who had bought the debt, so that I could handle them accordingly!
