Anonymous
I disputed some old collections on my credit report with TU online 11-20-02. We have provided the information below in response to your request."From this point on it is basically information for retention"If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contavt TU at the address shown below, or visit us on the web at blah blah blah When contacting our office, please provide your file number which can be found at the top of this letter.1561 E. Wyndo
I hope I get lucky too, but I'm doubting it. But, when you think about it, it *isn't* my job to go trying to track down a dozen different random companies, trying to convince them to remove their inquiries. I didn't authorize them to begin with, and there was no permissible purpose. This shouldn't even involve me at all, it's completely between the companies who placed the inquiries, and Trans Union for reporting it. Yeah!! Wyndo
After sending yet another dispute about them (the 3rd one), I've received the green card back. My last letter was a "delete them or else" demand. I haven't received anything yet, but I think what I'll get back is the same thing I've been getting, a list of the addresses of all the companies who received my credit report. The more I think about it, the madder I get. Fortunately, Trans Union seems to have an agent (according to the phone book) in Wichita (thanks for the tip, Admin), so suing shouldn't be hard ($51 even includes having the papers served). I'm going through the same thing with Experian, but their only listing is a Consumer Relations 1-800 number.
