troopavcl
Bank of America (paid)Capital One (paid)Discover Card (paid)I need a lil help here. These accounts are listed on my credit reports, however the Collection agencies that they sold the accounts to are not. I made a dumb mistake and paid the accounts prior to reading this board and now the OC and collection agencies are ignoring my validation requests and the so-called INVESTIGATIONS are coming back as verified. Verified how? They won't even respond to my request, how could a CRA know? I'm wondering what I'm leaving out? At what point, do I go for legal action? And who do i sue first the CRA,CA or the OC? admin
If the CAs are not reporting, just ignore them. You now want to delete ENTIRELY the accounts from the OCs. You can do this by disputes. Dispute every 60 days or so, starting with "Not mine". Then move on to "never late", then start disputing things within the listing like date of account was opened, balances, etc.

For instance, if you disputed an item as not mine, could you then ever dispute it as not mine again? If you did, could they see that you had not ony disputed this item before that was ultimately verified, but that also - you specifically disputed it as "not mine" before? Sixty days is just a good time frame to re-dispute.
Anonymous
Hello All.I am having a heck of a time! I was paying off some old debts, I hired Lexington Law Firm to help me dispute some incorrect debts. (Double entries, wrong amounts, etc.) Now these companies Providian, Orchard Bank, Capital One have changed the date that I opened the accounts, and are reporting them being late as of 11/2002 which is the same month I disputed them (ironically) These accounts are at least three years old, and probably older and I don't have anyway to prove that because my record keeping is right up there with Enron's but I do know that I applied for and received these cards in 1998-1999 and now they say I did it in 2001. I think disputing, and for that matter paying sets the crosshairs on you from just about everybody.
