Guest KARENMW67
My question was that after you've given them(direct source: ex.sprint,amer.ex.)NAME,ADDRESSS,SS#,CREDIT REPORT(all 3),they should know if I authorized the credit pull. What more do they want ? I've done that!!!!you answered my question. Give them a copy of the report with the dates, along with the information that I prevously submitted.RIGHT I just didn't want to be hinding myself or be doing their job :notsure: Thank you [Edit by KARENMW67 on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 @ 08:39 PM]

Anonymous
Why would they need your SSN?It is my opinion that they should keep accurate records of stuff like this. I think that you could probably sue for non PP pulls if they are asking you stuff like that...
Guest KARENMW67
I'M REFERRING TO HARD CREDIT PULLS. SOME THAT I DID DO AND SOME THAT WERE DONE BY COMPANIES OF ACCOUNTS THAT AREN'T MINE(THAT I DISPUTED AND GOT OFF). I'M WITH THE PERSON THAT SAID WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GIVE THEM MY SS# ANYWAY(NAME,ADDRESS,CRA,DATE PULLED) THEY SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION FROM THE DATE PULLED,TO BE ABLE TO GO IN AND SAY YES WE PULLED HER CREDIT,NOW DID WE HAVE THEIR(MY)PERMISSION. Realistically, though, they don't keep that information around as long as they should, especially if you don't have an account with them. And with the companies that you're talking about, the sheer volume of the CR's they pull in a day must be mind-boggling. Not to mention the different regional offices that it could have been pulled from. My understanding is that the CRA can provide them with that information if they ask, though. But, honestly, if I got a letter that went off half-cocked about FCRA violations and no supporting evidence, I wouldn't just sit down and write a check for $1,000. I'd want some more info so that I could verify that someone wasn't playing tricks with Photoshop to show an inquiry, that my company really did pull the inquiry. If you don't have an account with the company, a SSN is the fastest way for them to do that, realize their mistake, and cut you a check.Besides, if they saw your report, they already have your SSN, you're not guarding state secrets anymore.JMO. Guest KARENMW67
Thanks a lot ,you all have been very helpful.I'm going to wait and see what the CRA's do ,then I will follow up with letters stating that I have provided them with the proper information. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again. Sorry about caps!! [Edit by KARENMW67 on Friday, January 10, 2003 @ 10:51 AM]

That's way illegal for them to pull credit without authorization.
