kb9tbq
File Police Report - and press charges against said person for damages. Start there, also call the FTC, find out SOL for ID Theft. Pretty old case you have.
kimber6337
Reply to whom ever has contacted you with a green card validation letter asking for proof this debt is yours - don't sign your letter to them coz they might try to paste your signature in when they see your sig's don't match If they persist and do not provide valid proof and/or remove the debt and cease collection attmeps you could sue them in the end. kimber6337
Oh and on the police bit - just call your local PD's fraud division, they will know what the SOL on fraud is for your state. You might also ask them what they think you should do just for giggles.
kb9tbq
All depends if you honestly want to cooporate with the creditor to prove you have been a victim of id theft. FTC has guide for what the creditor will expect on your part to be done.
Anonymous
Some one stole my SSN and also my wife's back in 1995 then used an application for a pre-approved credit card to open the account. They took $1,100 in cash the first month plus charges at various local stores. Then a couple motel bills in places we had not been and other charges that would not fit our profile. This all happened in three months then it hit double the limit and the CC shut down the account. We moved a couple of time since and only found out about it when they took us to court last year. It is an obvious case of forgery and fraudulent application, but still yet we had to go though all the legal business and expense. Thieves could care less what happens to the victims. They will rot in hell. The one we suspect is most likely over dosed by now and lived in hell most of their lives, so we’re even. It was someone in our old neighborhood. Nice people we live around, huh?Stick to it and get a lawyer. File complaints with every law enforcement agency in the Universe. Some will listen, others will tell you to come back after the court case, etc. Just stick with it. Afterward, sue everyone involved.
