Anonymous
I want to subscribe to a credit monitoring service, but I do not know which of the three is most signifigant. I would even be willing to subscribe to two of them, but three is just too expensive. Does each agency specialize in certain types of business? retmar
Go to their respective websites to see what each one offers and take the one that best suits your needs.
Anonymous
I have visited all of the credit bureau sites and have gotten copies of my credit report from all of them. Each report is similar, but slightly to signifigantly different from each other. The question is, who is likely to access what report? In other words, if I apply for a mortgage or for a rental which report is most likely to be used as opposed to if I apply, say, for a credit card. retmar
It's hard to say. Some use all three, others use only one. That's mainly why I try and keep ours as even as possible. There was a link mentioned on the site about this and gives a list of who uses who. Unfortunately, I don't exactly remember where it is. Once you review your reports see which CRA has the most hard inquires and this will probably be the one that is most used in the area or region you are in. From my experience here in the south (Florida) a lot of businesses use EQ and EX, but when I lived up north (Mid-West) a lot of businesses used TU, guess it just depends. tcc1013
That is so true. It seems like every business in Texas uses Equifax, but in California TransUnion was preferred. There does appear to be some correlation based on where the business is.
