already investigated?

Once Experian and TU verifies a dispute, it is almost useless to dispute them again because they will simply state they have already investigated.

It bites but they will probably not investigate if they already verified it

Instead, I use the following notation for additional letters:

*********

ATTENTION

You are required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to re-investigate my consumer dispute even though you have already verified this credit item. Enclosed is additional information unavailable to you when this dispute was previously investigated; therefore you are obligated by federal law to investigate this consumer dispute.

Failure to fully re-investigate this consumer dispute is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and I am keeping careful records of any blatant disregard to adhere to federal law and all such willful negligence.

I disagree. You can't continue to use the same dispute everytime but if you change the reason for your dispute, they will re-investigate and it's not useless. The only useless thing is trying to dispute something already disputed online at EX.

That is definitely true.

There are a lot of different angles and approaches to use in disputing a tradeline and I fully recommend exhausting every avenue possible.

I suppose what I meant was that once a CRA has determined that they have already verified an account or debt as really belonging to you, it becomes very difficult to get them to investigate another consumer dispute.

I still have two pesky ones left with Experian and TU but both of them have decided that the information has been verified and their [EXPLETIVE DELETED] letters state they will not investigate something that they already verified. At that point, I was still disputing like, wrong date, wrong address, etc... but they just did not want to investigate anymore.

However, I closely looked at the original documents and found numerous technicalities. I then used that notation stating that I have additional information unavailable to them at the time that they investigated. I sent them a copy of the documents and with a bright highlighter, I pointed out the inaccurate information. They didn't delete it but I at least got them to re-investigate my consumer dispute again.

And that is what my point was, that if you end up at a stage where the CRA refuses to re-investigate, providing them with additional information is a possible way to get them re-investigate.

Make a copy of your credit report and circle the error and say this information is inaccurate please remove. Do a letter for each item you want removed and they will come off. Another thing join their credit club www.experian.com

The poster is asking about previously disputed items. Even though your approach wouldn't be advised even for a first time dispute, it's definitely not going to solve a re-investigation request. You need to be specific when dealing with the CRA's or they'll just kick it back to you.

There's no need to send a seperate letter for each item and there's no guarantee that it'll come off in the first dispute.
