equifax info

Recommended Posts

I am currently working very hard.. (about 2-3 hours day) on restoring my credit and getting invalid things off my reports. But I am busy. I live in NJ. Right now i live in NJ and am focusing on equifax.... is this a bad idea. Should I focus on all of them... It just seems to confusing to do them all at once.

Anyone got any advice.

  • 2 weeks later...

The way I do it is that I have everything broken down into directories on my computer.

Like CRA Disputes

Experian

Equifax

TransUnion

And then I name the files according to date, type, and creditor

Like:

01-23-2003__Inquiry Dispute_Dillards

03-04-2003__Tax Lien

That way, I can easily navigate my directories and easily pick out what kind of letters I mailed and out and to who.

There are probably a million ways to do this, but I have broken it down so I can easily see what I have for each CRA. It makes it a lot easier to deal with all three CRA's at the same time.

Check out www.budhibbs.com Good stuff, because you just might get a reply and they prove you had the debt. Thanks to Bud my credit is almost perfect now. Read the free book.

A cease communications letter is just that, requesting that the collection agency cease all communications with you. It doesn't apply to OC's and it doesn't remove information from the CRA's.

Cease Com work (Credit Repair 101)if you tell the Collection Agency in your letter that if they put any adverse info on your report that you will report them.... My Hubby was

a Bill Collector when they see that they get rid of your file a few weeks letter you send in your dispute to the Credit Bureaus and it's delete city time. If you request validation of the debt they just might send it to you and then what.....

Been there done both read the free book www.budhibbs.com

I had to edit after re-reading and picking myself up off the floor...sorry.

SweatPea..what in the **** are you talking about?

A C&D is notification to STOP communication other than mail correspondence. It doesn't have anything to do with adverse information ONLY with communication!

If your hubby's prior employer approved getting rid of a file by a simple C&D with an extra line about adverse information, they were a pretty WEAK CA and deserved to run with their tail between their legs!

You don't know what your talking about are you a plant from the collection agency? Read the Book www.budhibbs.com

Bud is the Man

You fell and HIT your head, go promote his book somewhere else. Swede a plant OMG LOLOLOL whatever! Swede knows more about the FCRA and FDCPA that you and hubby who was a collection person and ?is? a mortgage broker? do in your little finger!

I would head her advice and not have the audosity to tell a senior member of this board that they are a plant from a CA.

First off, sweetpea, the “edit button” on your window is used for….hmm lets see, yep- EDITING. Which means you don’t have to post the same thing 4 times.

Yea dude, I’m a full-time employee of NCO and I’m here lurking on all the deadbeats to get info to use against – get a grip will you!

Actually, I do know a thing or two about credit repair, I may not be as knowledgeable as you seem to be, but I do know this- cease communication has nothing to do with reporting to the CRA’s.

Cease communication is taken from the FDCPA which as we all know, or SHOULD know, has nothing to do with reporting requirements (which would be the FCRA § 623) but with debt collection. The specific section you keep referencing has to do with communicating WITH THE DEBTOR, not the CRA’s.

§ 805. Communication in connection with debt collection [15 USC 1692c]

© CEASING COMMUNICATION. If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except --

(1) to advise the consumer that the debt collector's further efforts are being terminated;

(2) to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor may invoke specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collector or creditor; or

(3) where applicable, to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor intends to invoke a specified remedy.

If such notice from the consumer is made by mail, notification shall be complete upon receipt.

It’s pretty distasteful of you to come as a new member and promote someone else’s site. This is Kristy’s site and I’m pretty sure you haven’t obtained permission to solicit on here so maybe from now on; you can omit this “tagline” from your posts.
