Ravenous Wolf
Does Trans Union still have Hawk Alerts?I was never certain what it really was execpt a few places where I read that a Hawk Alert is an address that is not a residence.Almost five years ago, I got a private mailbox and had everything delivered to that mailbox. And just simply attaching the number sign (#) in front of the box number gave it the impression that it was an apartment. Often times, much of my mail assumed it was an apartment. However, the Post Office tried to force the private mailbox industry to require their customers to use "PMB" in front of the box number instead of Suite #, Apt #, Office #, etc... After the intervention of a few congressmen, the Post Office compromised and allowed that the customers only use the number sign and box number.Anyway, since I moved from apartment to apartment, this private mailbox was a great way to ensure that my mail always arrived to the same place. In addition, it helped in credit applications because creditors always asked how long I have lived at my current address.Loan officers have told me that moving around impacts credit scores. Although I would like to know how since they have crappy ways of verifying things.Only Experian now shows some sort of residence code on my credit report. They actually have like three different codes for the same address like an apartment, house, multiple family something.About two years ago while I was applying for a loan at a bank, did a loan officer demand the location of my real address. Something in the Trans Union credit report must have told her that I was in fact living somewhere else and that the address I had given was a bogus one or a mailbox. She didn't want to see my lease but she firmly wanted where I was actually living. That is why I was still wondering if Hawk Alerts are still around.I have seen the recent acutal reports of a Trans Union credit report that my mortgager gave me copies of and it had no alert or warning about my real residence. sweetpea
Mr. Wolf,Make a copy of your credit report and circle the address and simply write. This is incorrect please remove. That should take care of it.Peace Out, ________Ipad Accessories Edited May 12, 2011 by sweetpea
Ravenous Wolf
That is why I asked if Trans Union still does Hawk Alerts. My Trans Union credit report shows my private mailbox as my address without any kind of variation. And I have recently seen copies of a credit report pulled by my mortgager showing my private mailbox with no variations.Trans Union shows my address accurately. However, I am wondering if there are still Hawk Alerts or other special messages indicating that the address shown is not my real address.I have fooled like 99 percent of all my loan applications (even fooled the mortgager) except for that one bank over two years ago.
