ADSOFT
Question #1:I have a judgement that I MIGHT want to settle. Does paying it off during the 7 yr period reset the clock? Question # 2:The statue of limitations on judgements is 7 yrs in California,if I don't settle in 7yrs can they still keep the judgement on my report.Question #3:If I settle after 7yrs will it go back on my report? kb9tbq
No - it goes 7 years from the file date. There is no re-setting whatsoever on these. [Edit by kb9tbq on Friday, April 11, 2003 @ 04:40 PM]
Rainbowspal
I thought the SOL for judgements in Calif. was 10 years?? I believe it can only stay on your CR for 7 years though. Keep in mind, they can "re-up" your judgement for another 10 years in Calif. if they do it timely....I am just now going through this NOT FUN! creditmess
I thought paying the judgements would renew the date????
kb9tbq
So did I at first; so I did check on this and know for sure now that it can only go from the file date.
