TU Wont investigate inquiries !!!!!

Recommended Posts

I've been dealing with the CAs for 2 years now and they've NEVER said that they wont investigate inquiries.

What can I do? This is crazy! I'm thinking about asking one of the investigators if I can record them saying that they will not investigate inquiries.

I am so frustrated with TU right now.

Know this has been a headache of many here; have to think of alternate routes that may still get this accomplished.

Like disputing with the company directly sending letter informing them there was never any authorization given to access your credit report and that you want them to update the credit reporting agency that this unathoized inquiry needs to be removed.

Otherwise keep spam disputing the CRA that you did not authorize this and was it removed. Try different ways on disputing; like calling customer service. Disputing online or sending in letter disputing. Sometimes it takes trial & error to get their attention.

Yeah TU can kiss my butt!

I called them last week and asked them to investigate inquiries, they said no.

I called them again today and said, "By law, you guys have to investigate everything that a consumer disputes!" She said, "No mam, there is no law. Inquiries are a FACT and you need to take that up with the people who are pulling your report!"

BS!! Im not buyin it!

So I sent TU a letter demanding that they remove 3 unauthorized inquiries. Heres what I wrote:

Trans Union

PO Box 1000

Chester, PA 19022

Dear Trans Union,

I am very distraught that you have reported 3 unauthorized credit inquiries on my credit report. They do not belong to me. I have made several attempts to contact the company who was listed as pulling my credit with no success. I have called your office twice to have this matter investigated. I was told both times that you do not investigate inquiries. When I informed your customer service representative that according to the FCRA, the credit reporting agency is obligated to investigate everything that I dispute, including inquiries, she told me there was no such law.

I beg to differ:

[TAB]611. Procedure in case of disputed accuracy [15 U.S.C. § 1681i]

[TAB](a) Reinvestigation of disputed information.

[TAB](1) Reinvestigation required.

[TAB](A) In general. If the completeness or accuracy of any item of information contained in a consumer's file at a consumer reporting agency is disputed by the consumer and the consumer notifies the agency directly of such dispute, the agency shall reinvestigate free of charge and record the current status of the disputed information, or delete the item from the file in accordance with paragraph (5), before the end of the 30-day period beginning on the date on which the agency receives the notice of the dispute from the consumer.

As you are no doubt aware, there is a law that backs this up. I have tried previously to get this matter resolved with your company. Unfortunately my patience is running thin. I insist that you remove the following inquiries from my credit files or you can expect a lawsuit to be filed and numerous complaints to be made with the Better Business Bureau and the FTC.

CREDCO [TAB]01/01/0000

Please delete the above inquiries as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

Does this look good? I will let you know what happens ;)
