Equifax deleted good accounts???

Recommended Posts

I just received an updated credit report from Equifax, stating they deleted 5 of the accounts I protested. That is the good news. The bad news is the new report has several of my good accounts missing, which makes it look like I have never had much credit. Is the new credit report a complete one, or are they just showing me the changes? Or, did they actually delete accounts that I didn't have a problem with? Anyone have this problem before?

Depending on which CRA did the updating you will not recieve a full credit report to know the fact of the matter. Experian in this area does that.

So you might want to pull a new credit report to be sure. If they did delete good tradelines - your only recourse will be contacting the creditor and beg borrow plead with them to get it reported back on. The CRA can't fix it once they delete.

I dispute an with Equifax. It comes back as verified.....what now? I have had some deleted, others are a pain to delete. I paid charge-offs, now I want those deleted as well. My next round of investigations (#8 so far, is due May 11 (a Sunday)...I will keep you posted on what I learn Wish me luck!!!

Run through the gambit of other reasons to dispute:

Incorrect Open Date

Inocrrect Status

Incorrect High Credit / Limit

Incorrect Balance

Take your pick - know there are others; but just pick at each individual detail in the tradeline. Something is sure to shake it loose eventually. Unfortunately some come off faster than others.

Good luck with your results ;)
