Anonymous
There is an email floating around my office saying that the credit agencies as of July 1st will share credit report information with whomever asked for it. In order for your information not to be shared it directed you to a phone number to call..After calling this number and entering your phone number it verified your address and sent a form to complete with your personal information. You also had to enter your personal information on the phone.I have not heard of this except for this email around the office and I was not about to call some number and give them my information without checking into this.Has anyone heard of this? herauntsis
There actually is a phone number you can call if you want the CRAs to stop selling your information to certain other people. I got this number off a letter from Experian: 1/888/5OPTOUT (1/888/567-8688).You can find out about that email by calling the above number -- they are saying it is basically BS. Anonymous
Thank You for your quick reply. I have printed that info and called the number and listened. A co-worker asked me if I had called yet and I told them no, not until I check it out and my reasons. His attitude was like he couldn't care less "I don't have anything for anyone to take"..I couldn't believe how naive he could be about someone using this information he provide to them.
