What day and how often do creditors update with CRAs?

I was just curious what day of the month and/or how often the creditors update information with the CRAs? Is it generally just once a month at the end of the month? Thanks.

I realize that they probably all do it differently, just curious if there are some general trends as to how it is done.

Yes it's different for each creditor. They will tell you that they send information to the CRA's at the end of the month but that's not entirely what I've found. The balance that always shows up on my cards is the balance I have at the last day of my billing cycle which for Providian in my case is always on the 14th. You can call up and ask what date is the last day in your billing cycle and make sure the balance is paid off that day to increase your score.

If only I was concerned about paying off my balance before the end of the cycle to increase my score. :D That made me laugh. I will get there soon, but it is going to take a while.

I was kind of thinking at the end of the month since it seems as though the last update for many of my creditors happened in March. I settled three accounts this month. I wonder if it is going to improve my score any since the balance should at least go down and hopefully be eliminated, if not this month then next. Then I will work on getting rid of them all together. :D
