paw67
Does anyone know if CBC Credit Services is affiliated with EQ? I recently was denied a GM card through Household (have a Household MC) and they say that the only reason is because of public record item listed on credit report from CBC Credit Services out of Middleburg Heights OH (fico at the time was 667). I know for a fact that they pulled EQ because the inquiry is there. Also, I do not have any public record items on my EQ report. When I started cleaning up my credit (about 45 days ago) there was a suit listed on EQ from 1997 that I knew nothing about. I disputed it and they removed it right away without investigating. It is no longer showing on my report yet the denial says that it is because of "Item of public record".Any ideas who CBC Credit Services is? I think I will send a letter requesting report from them but I was hoping someone here may have heard of them. Also, has anyone had luck writing a letter for reconsideration for a GM card?Thanks!!paw67 [Edit by paw67 on Thursday, May 1, 2003 @ 05:19 PM]
kb9tbq
One way to know for sure if CBC Credit Services is an affiliate of Equifax:Go to their web site; click on disputes; you will see a screen come up with a prompt to enter in your zip code - it will give you the name of the affiliate that handles your area; thus confirming if it is CBC that they use. I did a search on google for CBC Credit Services and it has a website but says that you cannot do disputes via their website. Also, it says CBC Real Estate Credit Services so, now I am more confused. I will go ahead and send off for a report from them and see what happens. Thanks!paw67
paw67
Update...I found a phone number on the letter that I received so I called it. It says Equifax Information Services, formerly CBC Credit Services. Now I know for sure, the only thing that I don't understand is that I do not have any public record items on my EQ report so I can't figure out why they would have denied me for that reason. Oh well, I think I will send them a nice little letter asking for reconsideration. Thanks again for the help with this.paw67
kb9tbq
Do you have public records showing up on your Experian Credit Report or TransUnion.Think if you do a search in here - may just run into others having covered this topic. I may be wrong - but am thinking that Experian has affiliates in certain areas also.
