testforecho
I have written Experian a few times about their noting that "Customer says closed.." in the comments section where the account status says "open" or similar. My understanding is creditors could care less about the comments. All they care about is the status. Is this true? Can I sue if the comments have "closed" but the status is "open"? kb9tbq
Not in my experiance if there is a comment there; it is just as well that the account is closed. You could go route of calling the creditor & asking them to reflect that the account is in fact closed this should help.
testforecho
<snip>You could go route of calling the creditor & asking them to reflect that the account is in fact closed this should help</snip>I have mailed them letters asking them to change the status from "Paid/Never Late" to "Closed/Never Late". It would seem to me that their status carries more weight than my comments. I am currently writing them letters, one last time, requesting that they change the status and then I am planning to proceed to small claims court.
