? on SOL

Recommended Posts

I beleive it is only the ability to take you to court to collect, the 7 yrs is how long it stay on you CR.

They can keep trying to collect as long as the want.

I have a phone bill problem. Any they told me well even if you never pay, your never going to get home phone service from us.

So, I can't ignore these guys, I have to take 'em on.

They aren't going to waste their time collecting past the SOL - especially if you tell them they are past the SOL in your state.

Phone bills - If they are doing something wrong, file a complaint with your states public utilities commission. In our state, its open service now - so you have more than one utility company that you can deal with. Another option is to get a friend or relative to open service in their name at your address.

<<<<busily trying to find answer to this everywhere plus here>>>>

Does the SOL begin the day the account became late (which I guess means a payment was made then repeated bills went out and went unpaid) or does the SOL begin the date it's turned over to collections (or does it depend on individual states?)

I'd like to find out from the credit card (being OC) and the CA (all of mine are medical bills) perspectives.
