VeeGee
I have a couple of questions:1) Can I have a previous surname taken off CR (ex husbands surname). I am re-married and use my new surname everywhere and have changed it with everyone like, ss, mvd, irs, employer, CC's, etc. etc. 2) How do I dispute an inquiry with a person or company that inquired about my credit which I did not authorize or recognize? Especially if only the company names are on report, with no addresses to write to? I have read on this forum that it's best to write to the original creditor...but the inquires I'm looking at are not CCC's. There mortgage companies and miscellaneous reptg. agencies? Which only have their names and no addresses? Can someone assist me on this? I would appreciate it very much. Thanx

I've had the best luck just calling the 3 CRA's and saying I haven't used that name in over 10 years. They take it off immediately.2. Do some searching around, there's a letter around here to send to creditors who pulled a non-PP inquiry. You can call the CRA's and get the addresses, or post the companies here and someone will be able to find them for you.
VeeGee
Thanx cookiemnster...I do appreciate the info. You mentioned telling the CRA that I haven't used that name in 10yrs? I stopped using it in Oct.2002 when I got married...is it still ok to ask them to remove the name?

Forever is such a subjective term, yanno.
VeeGee
lmao...and let's hope they don't ask me "how long is forever" lol. But it's worth a try... the addresses on my report are really very old...going to ask to have that removed too. Thanx for your help...OH btw, I like the cookie monster
smogtek
I just call 'em up and give 'em the one name and address that you use and tell 'em that all the others are "Not Mine"!
