Anonymous
Hi folks,I've heard about a means whereby I could monitor my credit report for a 3-month period or so and get up to the minute information, etc.Is this sort of thing really a good idea? Is there a downside at all? Assuming there are choices, is one offer better than another?THanks,Khobar
md
If you are actively working on your credit then it is a good idea. I presume you are referring to Privacy Guuard. For disputing it is sometimes easier with each individual credit report as the number on it can make it easier to dispute more ways (i.e. telephone, online). Capepuffin
Its best to get each report from each CRA separately. You can get them online and monitor them through their services. DO NOT GET 3-1 REPORTS! They are inaccurate!Get each individual report from TU, EX, & EQ. Sign up for their free 30 day trials. TU is the only one that you have to purchase. DO NOT GET 3-1 REPORTS!!!!!!!
Anonymous
Thanks folks. I'll just order the two reports I need. I paid for an Experian report a few weeks ago for $9.95 and it was a one time on-line deal. I'll be more careful this time around. Can someone recommend a specific option for Equifax and TransUnion whereby I can access my credit report an unlimited number of times over the next 30 days or so. Or would this be a bad idea?Khobar [Edit by khobar on Thursday, May 22, 2003 @ 08:32 PM]
sisflomi
Did you try going to dispute with experian? If your report is not older than (I think) 3 months, you can put the file number in and it should bring up your entire report. You don't have to actually do a dispute either. You can just look at it and then log out.

I then applied for refinancing and was told by the mortgage company there was a COLLECTIOn on Equifax and TransUnion, but not Experian. Go figure!Khobar
