jeajack21
I am having an issue with Experian right now and during CHOD had issues with the other two CRA's. My issue currently is that I am trying to dispute a credit card account that I already disputed back in January or sometime before. Experian told me over the phone, that they would be unable to dispute the item because it has been previously verified. The same thing happened on other accounts during CHOD with the other CRA's just telling me the account has been previously verified. The answer I received today from Experian is to contact the creditor directly. But what do you do if the creditor will not respond to you??? With Equifax, I did have one success where the representative not only asked for verification, but some type of proof and that the proof would be forwarded to me. Within two weeks, the tradeline was deleted. It does not seem that Experian has such of a procedure and they just keep referring me back to the creditor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ericasf
I am having the same issue with Exp. In fact, i received letters last night stating that accounts were previously verified and therefore unable to investigate. Isn't that a violation of the FCRA? Deliahsdad2
Same problem here with Experian. Just keep telling me Previously Investigated. I change the wording in every letter(not mine, never late, unknown account number, etc..) and still states the same thing, ever since the first letter sent almost 6 months ago. Any one have some advice?

Xanathos
You have to provide "new, relevant information" to the investigation that they didn't previously have. Send them a copy of your drivers license with the dispute, or something
ericasf
What if there is no new relevant info? It's the same info you were going off of before that showed that the account was inaccurate. Aren't the CRAs supposed to give you the information that brought them to the conclusion that the account was correct?
Xanathos
Your drivers license is new relevant information...they didn't have a copy of that before, did they? Maybe you want them to match license numbers, or the picture?Hell, send in a picture of your kid.. anything is new and relevant if you twist it right
VeeGee
Experian was very helpful when I called them. They updated all my personal info and deleted all the inquires I asked them to delete??? They also closed accts that were paid in full and my score went up too? I found them to be the easist CRA to deal with. They were very nice too. Xanathos
I agree.. when I started this whole thing last month, EX was the one I was dreading, because everything I read about them was just so godawful here...I was actually looking forward to TU, because they seemed the easiest. My god, was I wrong.. EX has been a dream and TU has been my worst freaking nightmare. EQ has been pretty cool, too.

jeajack21
Contacted Experian today to try to figure out how to get collection account deleted due to collection account company not validated with me. Experian said that they are just a credit storage facility and I would have to contact the collection company to get deleted. Now how in the world does Experian expect me to do that if they won't even reply to my CMRR validation letter. Aren't they in serious violation of the FCRA???? HELP!!!!!!!! jeajack21
I already have a preformatted letter that Experian sent to me saying that they contact the creditor via phone, fax, or someother electronic means. When I had talked to a person on the phone, they had referred me to information that had previously sent and verified with me the name and address of the creditor. My issue is still standing that the collection agency will not send me validation and the Credit Bureau will no longer dispute it. I think, if I read it correctly, that Experian is under violation of the FCRA. What is my next step??
Waxworks
To add to the thread of misery, according to EX, I got a letter stating the t/line was verified, ALBEIT, I know for a fact the CC was issued to me before 6/2000, because I had the card in 99, and what i got to do now, is go through ALL my old CRAs from back when, and HOPE I can find it there, then send that as proof, but what I am afraid of, is they will update that info, instead of contacting the OC. This is the same OC (Bank(last)First, that sold my account to Arrow, and won't update my info as Pd Ch/off. So I feel as if this is one of those Credit Catch .22's, but is more painful than a .44 slug, to my credit life.
