an odd problem

Recommended Posts

This is my first post here, so I'm not sure if I'm asking in the right section, but anyhow...I am curious to know if anyone else has had a problem obtaining a copy of their credit report, and if so, what they did about it.

To explain my situation a bit further....I've recently applied for several credit cards, and because of the reasons for rejction, I suspect that there's incorrect info on my credit report. However, I have been unable to obtain a copy of the report because both Experian and Equifax say that they couldn't locate a credit profile based on the info I gave them.

Needless to say, this is very puzzling and I'm not sure what to do about it....any advice would be much appreciated.

Neither credit bureau gave specific reasons in their letter as to why they couldn't locate my credit profile, so I'm really not sure what is going on. I know that I'd forgotten to send a copy of the letter of denial to Experian (stupid mistake I know, but this was my first time requesting a copy of my report) But as I did not make that mistake with Equifax, I'm rather confused. As for what's coming up under my Social Security number, that's a really good question, as the reason Sears rejected my application for a credit card is that I'm underage....when I'll be 25 next month.

Call them again and ask them to access your file while you are on the phone with them.

Explain your situation and see if you get someone nice enough to help you

I got a great CSR at CSC today and deleted things that were duplicated while i was on the phone with her.

Cool eh?
