doublebuchi
My TU score in May was 582. Since then I had 2 collections deleted. Had 2 accounts that were reporting 30 day lates changed to never late. Had 1 CO CC changed to pays as agreed. Also what was changed, had an old auto loan that showed 15 - 30 day lates deleted. I only disputed the lates, they deleted the whole account. I had a Citi account that was not mine. It was in good standing, but had a balance showing of over $8000. I had that deleted because it was hurting my debt to income ratio for my upcoming mortgage. Tody I pulled TU score and it is only 542. What the #@$! DocDon
Having tradelines deleted can lower your FICO. Keep in mind, FICO is constantly changing, so there isn't a fixed position for it to start moving up or down. That's why in some instances, it's best to have a 30 day late that occurred some time ago to remain on the report instead of risking having the entire tradeline deleted. In those situations, it's best to work it out directly with the OC to reduce the risk of deletion because they didn't verify in time.If you had any kind of history with these accounts, deleting them reduced your length of credit history, thus reducing your FICO. It’s stupid, but we have to play their game. That's why I suggest if you have 5 years of history on a credit card, and 1 or 2 30-day lates that happened over that period, write a goodwill letter to the creditor to update your file. Disputing this through the CRA leave the possibility of the deletion of 5 years of credit history.
Anonymous
I disputed a Lease that I had on TU that showed 30 days late and I had my lease company fax over a UDF to TU showing the account was Paid As Agreed, Never late. TU decided to delete the whole tradeline. What's wierd though is my TU score was 553 for a while then just jumped to 660, I can't imagine deleting a good tradeline of 4 years that had a zero balance bringing up my score but who knows. TU seems to be the worst to deal with for me. Your score should rebound quite a bit with those items deleted, Probably hasen't updated in there system yet.
