Some notate the account usually EX and EQ, but TU doesn't notate that it is in dispute. What kind of letters did you send and who did you send them to? You don't DV a CRA!I think what you meant was the CA is demanding payment from you.If you sent a DV (CMRRR) to a CA, they need to send you proof that you owe the debt. That it is in fact yours. They are not to collect on the debt while it is in dispute. So no, they can't demand payment. That is a violation of the FDCPA! So for you that is good. It is 1 violation that you have against them (the CA) for $1000.00. If you ever sue the CA for violations of the FDCPA you'll need proof! Save all of your paperwork, greencards etc... and make sure that you send all of your corrospondences via CMRRR!Did you send your first DV letters CMRRR? kb9tbq
CMRRR = Certified Mail Return Receipt RequestedDV = Debt Validation letters, this is something which you send directly to collection agencies to get them to validate the debt by contacting the OC (original Creditor).Verification = is a term used for what the CRAs (Credit Reprting Agencies) do when they contact the CA (collection agencies) to request updated information on the account.Dispute is what you do when corresponding with the CRAs. You are disputing accuracy of TL (Tradeline) information contained in the CR (credit report).I know it can get a bit confusing when first coming in here, in the very top section of this board - you will see one area that says read before you post - it does give you starting out tips for using the board. And also other general anouncements provided. You will catch on in no time,

(@) </blockquote>Yes you are suppose to send the CA (collection Agency) the DV(debt validation) letter. You did that part right! But when you send anything always send it CMRRR (Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested) this way you have proof that you sent the CA the letter because they will have to sign for it. Then you will get back the 'greencards' from the post office with the CA's signature on it. You save all of this stuff, keep it together in a file or binder so that you can keep track of your DV's, CRA disputes etc...So if you did not send the DV letter CMRRR, resend it to them but this time fill out the 2 green forms at the post office. Just ask and they will show you which ones to fill out. Bring a stack of each home so that you can fill them out at home for future use.You are doing fine. It just is very confusing at first like Kb9 said you'll catch on ! Do as much reading on this board as possible!
