counselor4kids
How many years back should be addresses be on a report?
smogtek
Although some people would argue that longevity=stability, I'm not sure it makes that much difference.Today's society is so mobile, and I believe I read the average person in this country moves every 3-5 years, I wouldn't worry about it.Do what you need to clean up your reports and the rest will come. thefall
I think a good rule is just having current and previous. We moved so much in the last 4 years it appeared we were gypsies. Could help when disputing stuff too.
kb9tbq
On the addresses it is not so much that it is affecting the credit scores, but more so, the creditor is going to get worried about you skipping when they see how many times you have moved around. So in general; shake loose the extra addresses if you can. Highrisk
When I tried this with Experian, they gave me attitude, like "So, you NEVER lived there?" I just said "that was my boyfriend's address, get rid of it. But what grounds do you dispute it on? Can you just ask them to delete? Does this raise your score at all? Don't state it was a BF or GF, mom's or anyone else-they will give you hard time about deleting. When reading old addy's back at the CSR for whatever CRA you are talking too make it sound like you just picked it out of a phone book at random for good effect.
