curlytop
AARRGHHH! After all the work of getting a POBox and changing everything there and WAITING for the new address to report...EX refuses to delete my old address. I had called before and deleted the really old addresses with NO problem. Maybe I should have left them all and done it all at once. The rep said old addresses stay on FOREVER. She said that I gave them that address when I got my credit report recently, which I did. I tried to say it was my parent's address and not mine. (Which is actually true.) She asked if I ever lived with my parents and I said that I did when I was a kid and she said then it had to stay!I would just call back, but I am afraid she made notes. She was very adamant. What should I do???
Swede
Call back- get a supervisor on the phone. The problem is that your current creditors will re-report your address each month unless you change it with all of them.....
curlytop
I already changed all of my current creditors about a month ago to the PO Box. What should I say to a supervisor? Is it a mistake to admit that it was my parents' address? Thanks, Swede.
morrow
Honestly if it were me I would just call back and ask again. I got lucky the first time when I called EX. The CSR was very nice and took off all my old addy's, even though they were legit and less than 5 years old.Just try again until you get a CSR that will assist you. Someone will do it. Agreed, sometimes you just get a super nasty, miserable rep who won't do anything for you. Just call back and try again.
downsouth
I faxed over a request to have my address removed from EX. It took about 5 days before it went into disputed but the next day when I checked, it was gone. That wasn't my first time getting my address removed from EX. If calling doesn't work, try faxing it, it worked for me.
curlytop
When I pulled PG today, I noticed the lovely rep I spoke with yesterday, not only didn't remove my old address, she made it my current address!!! I clearly explained to her that it was NOT my address. What a !!!!! I think some of those reps really must hate their jobs. Downsouth, thanks for the advice. I would try faxing it, but I don't have a DL with the current address yet. I think they will require that. Did they with you?
curlytop
BTW, TU was much more helpful in removing my old address.
downsouth
Curleytop,I only sent a letter stating that I never lived at the address that was on my report. I thought I would receive a letter stating that a copy of my driver's license would me needed, but Nope, they just deleted it. The number I faxed to is 972-390-3838. It's worth a try. curlytop
Thanks, guys! I got a much nicer rep yesterday who fixed it for me. I just have to send in proof of address (bank statement) in order to get my corrected report. The old address was gone today from PG! Yea! I think I will try the FAX # that DS has here, even though the rep told me that they do not accept FAXs.Thanks for all the help. I don't know how I could do this alone!
