morrow
Here:Date Regarding: Account No. XXXX Sears NAAC ATTN: Credit Bureau Desk 13200 Smith Road Middlebrook Heights, OH 44130 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing a letter about my experience with Sears that is a mixture of a grateful "thank you" and a pressing request concerning a Sears Charge Card tradeline in my credit files that i would like to see revised. I received the Sears card in [YEAR], several years before I [CHAOTIC LIFE EVENT--A MOVE, A BIRTH, MEDICAL SICKNESS, ETC]. Later when I experienced the [CHAOTIC LIFE EVENT] and while working on [WORK PROJECT], I became disorganized with respect to, as you saw, making timely payments with Sears. I fully recognize my responsibility with respect to payable accounts and have worked diligently to rehabilitate my relationship with Sears since that time. To be honest, that year was a "wake-up" call for me regarding fiscal organization. Since then I believe I have learned the essential organizational and financial management principles I desperately needed at that point. Thankfully, responsible credit management is now reflected in my credit records which--excluding the Sears card late entry--are excellant. I wish to thank you for renewing your confidence in me and for giving me a second chance at a relationship with you, one that I am determined to keep spotless. We are about to shop for a mortgage, and it has come to my attention that the late notations from Sears may preclude me from full advantage of the very lowest interest rates now available. Since those notations do not reflect my current status with Sears, I am requesting that you give me a second chance at a positive credit rating by revising those tradelines. Your customer service representative suggested that I write you for a "goodwill adjustment". I sincerely hope that there is redemption at Sears, and I beg you for such consideration. Please let me know if any additional documentation would assist in reaching a positive outcome, and I thank you again for the time you have spent reading this letter. Very Hopefully yours, Name Address
morrow
Heres another:Your name Street address City, State Zip Date Credit Manager Name of Creditor Street Address City, State Zip Re: Request credit rating upgrade on account # (list account number) Dear Sir/Madam: Approximately (? years) ago I had some trouble with the above listed account. This account is being reported to the credit bureaus in a most injurious manner. Consequently, I have found it to be most difficult in obtaining credit because of this past problem. And am told that I must live with this for seven years. I do not feel that this is fair and it does not truly reflect my current credit worthiness. I realize that there were problems in maintaining this account to your satisfaction. During that time I was ... (give explanation of situation which caused problem to originally occur). I assure you that I am now back on my feet, more than (?) year, and request that you re-evaluate my credit rating. You have received all monies which were owed to you and feel that I have paid long for my mistake, in many ways than one. I am hoping that this explanation will persuade your company to restore a favorable crediting rating in the connection with this account. We all deserve a second chance, don't we? Please indicate your decision on this letter and return the signed original to me. (Please hold a copy for your files.) I will then notify the credit bureaus of your authorization. [ ]Change my credit rating to "Paid Satisfactorily" (Removing any negative status information). OR: [ ]Delete the account completely from any and all of my credit profiles. morrow
And yet another: (BTW-these are courtesy of CREDITMAN on creditreportrights... )re: Account # XXXXXXX Dear Sir or Madam: This letter is being sent to you in response to a listing on my credit report of late payments on my XXXXX account. I request that XXXXX report the status of my account as "Open/Never Late" instead of "Current, was past due 30 days" on all tradelines with Experian, Equifax, and Transunion credit reporting agencies. As I am currently in the process of applying for my first mortgage, I am very concerned with making sure that my credit report is completely accurate. My records indicate that all payments due for this account have been sent well before the payment due date. I would appreciate a letter from your office letting me know that you have changed your reporting of the status of my account on all tradelines as "Open/Never late".
