$1000 per violation or per case filed?

Recommended Posts

Can you sue the credit bureau(s) for $1,000 per each violation or $1,000 per case filed?

I have 2 judgements on my report that were vacated earlier this year and I plan on suing them for not removing them and constantly verifying them (yeah right!) Anyway... Do I need 2 separate law suits?

You would not need two separate lawsuits. You can file a single lawsuit for multiple violations against a company or person. As for your other question, I think if the violation occurred on two separate occasions then that would count as two separate violations. However, if you sent a letter with both tradelines on it and they violated the law somehow then my understanding is that it would be one violation...although I am not sure on this.
