almost_there
We've have our card (never late) a year now and the other night when I called to ask them some questions regarding reporting, they offered me to unsecure the card and also mentioned a credit limit increase. So, being only an AU, I had DH call them to unsecure the card and I had a nifty plan to get the increase, max it out, pay it down and watch our scores take off....if only it had been that easy! They told us when we called to ask for the increase, "oh we're sorry, limit increases are automatic. If you are approved for one, we will let you know but you can't ask for them." BAH! I am so sick of Cap One doing this to us. We get offers all the time for better cards from them, lower interest rates and such, but we never get what they offer us! I think it's time for a letter to PFB...we either start getting what they are offering us or we're outta here!I'll tell them to take their Platinum offers, their limit increase policy, and their high interest rates, and stick them up their no-reporting-of-credit-limit asses! almost_there
Thanks catnap!I don't know what happened, but I just called that number and as soon as I had my account info. keyed in, an automated voice congratulated me on a credit limit increase of $100 (whoopie!) Oh well...I just plan on maxing that baby out tomorrow and returning it as quickly as I can, I still have time to do it all before the billing cycle is over on the 25th. I hope this, and my $100 payment I just made, will give my scores a shot in the arm once activity for this cycle is reported.
catnap1972
From what's been posted elsewhere, Crap 1 soon will no longer accept "requested" CLIs, they're going to an "automatic review" policy (which means fat chance on seeing any more). Sounds like you got in under the wire, even if only for a puny increase.
almost_there
I went and maxed out the card today. I'll do the return tomorrow and hopefully I can get it all in on the next reporting to the CRA's. We're also getting our security deposit back and I think I will pay that towards my balance, too. Thanks again for your help catnap
