All of my accounts are currently past due at least 180 days. I havent been able to pay any of them. Some are in colletions, but most are not. For some reason the OC is still holding them and is not taking any kind of action yet.

I have had very little money to be able to pay any of them, so I havent paid any. I only have about $50 to give to each of them and the past due on each is over $200. My question is since I dont have enough to pay them the past due do you think I should still pay the little bit that I have? I know this is a silly question since most would say "of course" but is this going to make the OC's even more pushy?

I know $50 is a far fetch from $200 but I my boyfriend has been out of work and I have to prioritize my bills. I have been considering bankruptcy for a while, but when I found this board I figured I would be able to fix my credit a bit when I get back on my feet, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to now

I'm just not sure what to do at this point. Even bankruptcy costs money and I really dont have the money to do that at this point. Plus, I'm afraid of loosing my car. I was hoping that all bills would go into collections and they'de offer me a payoff, but since the OC's have been holding onto their accounts I doubt this would happen. Any advice would be helpful. I hope I'm not the only person who has been in this situation.

Please find a good bankruptcy lawyer-most initial consultations are free-and see what he/she recommends. Many have decent payment plans for their fees. You may likely be able to keep your car, it depends on your situation.

At the rate you are going, you will probably never see the end of your bill problems. It might be best to file and put this all behind you. Only you can decide but do get a professional opinion.

Good Luck.
