Best way to remove myself as AU on Credit reports?

DH has a CC that I am listed as AU on. On my reports it is showing twice which is an error, and it has too high a balance for me to want to stay on, so my question is what is the best method to have CRA's take this account (or both of them since it is duplicated) of my reports. Do I wait until my current disputes are finished, then do it as a new dispute, or is it simply a matter of calling and getting taken off because as an AU it does not have to be on my report. Will I actually have to be taken off the card as well? Is it difficult to get CRA's to remove these? Just need some advice so as not to add an additional 15 days to my current disputes, I couldn't bear to wait that much longer!

Thank you! :D

Have your DH call the original creditor and let them know he wants you removed as an authorized user and for your credit report to be updated. Also at this time, he can make them aware of the dupe reporting for this other one to be removed also. Don't back down, tell them that you want nothing less then the tradelines to be removed since there is still activity on them you don't want going against you on the reporting.

Sometimes they have a way of just updating the relationship on the account, like TransUnion would instead of showing authorized user - they would change to terminated, meaning your relationship is servered but still they would rotate reporting on the activity none the less.

I have a variation of this same question... Two family members are AU's on a card that belonged to one of their mothers... Unfortunately, the mother died while carrying a high balance on the card. So now it is negatively effecting their credit. Advice has been given to have the card owner call and have the AU's removed from the card... The problem is like I said - that person is dead. What now?

Then they are just going to have to dispute through the CRAs,

Tell them, that they did not give authorization to be added to this account, and that they want this removed off of their credit reports, since they are not responsible for the debt.

If this does not work, then must contact the creditor in writing, to let them know of the situation that they want this account removed, but that since then the owner of the account has passed away. They may need copy of the death certificate - you should be able to contact customer service, just to be sure what is needing to be included in the letter first.
