cfasting
After reading the site's information for about a month, I am ready to jump in and try to repair my wife's credit first. On her report is a CO from Discover (DLA 5/97) and a Collection on it with a DLA of 10/97. My questions come are:--Should I proceed right to an SOL letter (and keep the item for another 6 months until it falls off)? Or try debt validation first? --If SOL, should I work the Creditor first or the collection agency? Thanks in advance, and I look forward to sharing my success with you all!Claus
Swede
Greetings and welcome On her report is a CO from Discover (DLA 5/97) and a Collection on it with a DLA of 10/97. My questions come are:A collections cannot outlive the CO, the dates should be the same. Which report are you referring to here?Should I proceed right to an SOL letter (and keep the item for another 6 months until it falls off)? Or try debt validation first? Neither- dispute with the CRA's as "not mine"should I work the Creditor first or the collection agency? You need to deal with whomever is reporting on your files so if both are then you dispute both with the CRA's.
