Contact for Dept. of Ed.?

I have a federal student loan through the U.S. Dept. of Ed.

I had a couple of late payments last year that I would like removed, but I am hesitant to dispute them, since the on-time payments since then have brought up my score alot, and I don't want to risk losing the entire TL.

Anyone know anyone I can call for a goodwill adjustment? Any sugestions as to what to do?

Interesting - well put it this way, if you can find a contact name & address at www.planetfeedback.com then I would think the answer to be yes.

If you can't, then you just have to locate an address through other means, like off of their web site, or customer service may provide you with an address to send good will letter that way, may even try faxing as well.

I don't think Uncle Sugar gives a rat's [EXPLETIVE DELETED] about a goodwill letter.

Uncle Sugar doesn't do stuff like that.

If you have ever had to deal with government officials (I have worked for the state and my current job is with a defense contractor), the government doesn't care about being lenient UNLESS it is allowed by law.

Whatever is not allowed by law is ILLEGAL.

Like heroin is illegal. But it is legal for Uncle Sugar to give out money to institutions so they can give away free syringes so that druggees are using clean needles when they shoot up.

One part is illegal but being lenient is legal. But only allowed by law.

Your real problem is with the CRAs and that is the best route to take in getting those lates removed.

As for losing the tradeline, that is the double edged sword that you must face. It really depends how much losing a good tradeline is worth to you. It always a risk.
