tank36
I settled in full with a company called Van Ru, in April 2003. On my credit report, they have the same account number, so as far as I'm concerned, that account is closed and settled in full. What do I do next? morrow
Like I said, if it were me, I would call them up and make payment arrangements. Many CC companies can and will do this for consumers. They may knock your int rate down and take off any and all late fees if you set up arrangements to have a set payment taken out of your checking account each month. We did this with Discover and Providian. You'll never know unless you try But then again, someone else may have a better idea
tank36
So would it be worse to go with Debtfree.org or to do it myself. Which would get me to current status faster?

Which would get me to current status faster?Honestly I couldnt tell you, hopefully someone will jump in with better answers than me, but why on earth would you pay someone to do what you could do yourself? michigangirl530
i went with a credit repair comp long ago and it made my creditworse so i steped in and paid accounts off my self and talked to the creditors and had them to correct my reports. ive read on this board that if it is put on credit report that it is a debt repair comp it is worse. just my opinion
