Authorized credit question

Usually the person who owns the account, just asks for additional authroized user account to be set up. They give them the persons name & address - nothing further.

The creditor should not even pull a credit report since the person is only authorized to use, but not responsible to pay the debt. So their credit should have no bearing on this part what so ever.

Don't even have to provide the social security number, but be sure that this is a creditor that has the policy of reporting authorized user accounts. And also for best results, see if they report to all three credit reporting agencies.

Pick accounts which are high credit limit verses low balances and has been established for a considerable period of time and no derogitory information on these accounts. It will affect your scores just as it would the owner.
