Anonymous
Capital One Sued Me, and then a 3rd party sent me a letter so that I could give them a list of my assets. Do I have to reply? They wont make monthly arrangements. Can they get my tax refund no one in the house works right now due to a car accident. What can I do. The law firm seems to be more of a collection agency could that be right?

Anonymous
I received a letter from the attorney's office handeling the debt for Capitol One with a tel# that i could call to settle the debt or for any questions but when i called his rep told me that it did not matter if i went to court because there was nothing i could do, because i had already lost without even going to court, she said court was just a formality. Anonymous
Oh brother, I cant wait to hear how this one turns out. I have CapitalOne as a creditor.Im sure CALawyer can help you here, He's been a great help to me too.First of all, did you ever get served a copy of the complaint against you or ever hear anything about a court date? They obviously have your address. They are racking up the violations, you should keep detailed records of your phone conversations.Im curious who the lawfirm is.Did they get a default judgement against you?Did you ignore a summons?[Edit by Elvis Eleven on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 @ 11:16 PM]
kimber6337
WOW, so has your court date come and gone? I can't believe they TOLD you not to show up to court coz you have already lost! Sounds like they are wanting you to have no recourse for later (IE vacate etc..) vincent
I'm sure the law firm will deny that they told him not to show up to court.
ghacorp
It sounds like service of process ocurred then no Answer to the complaint was sent back (or received by the court) resulting in a default or a court appearance was missed. What piece of the puzzle is missing here?
