Wannabedebtfree
I received a letter today dated December 8, 2002 from an attorney office (the PO screwed up my mail from Nov until now). It was regarding a medical bill that I had. I previously sent the CA a cease and desist letter and told them to have to hospital bill me themselves. What is the best way I should do from here? The amount is $510 and the bill is from March of 2001.
Wannabedebtfree
I checked through the rest of my back mail and I received a notice from the CA I sent the cease and desist (it was sent in 12/02) to and it was dated for 11/20/02 and it said the following:Subject: Authorization for further collection activityDear Client:We have expended all reasonable efforts to collect the above account. In our opinion, any further attemps on our part would be unwarranted. We are therefore returning this account to you for you to consider authorizing our agency to prepare this account for further collection activity. We are sending a copy of this notice to you debtor hoping that it will be paid prior to your authorization for further collection activity. If the aforementioned activity is authorized, please sign and return this notice to our office.******************************************Ok I have a question in addition to what I posted in the last message. 1) Isn't there somewhere in the FCRA that talks about the verbage being stated in a way that is hard to understand?2) They sent the letter our on 11/20/02 and then not even a month later I get something from a law office but I do not get a statement from the hospital. What should I do about this?I am trying to find the best way(s) to handle this. If anyone can give me info I would appreciate it.

retmar
When did you send the C&D? Did you send it CMRR?Send a DV and C&D CMRR to the attorney. Include in there a copy of your first C&D and tell them that you never received the required communication from your first C&D. I'm wondering though if the attorney letter is dated in Dec, why haven't they been contacting you. Is your mail straightened out now?
Wannabedebtfree
I sent the C&S in the early part of Dec. I have not received any other communication from the OC or the attorney's office. My mail is together now. Should I send the OC and the attorney's office the C&S letter? Also what is a CMRR?
